Detroit, Michigan, United States LoVasco Consulting Group Full time

Job Description

The Account Executive plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of our services to our clients. In this role, you will manage and advise client accounts for employers of all sizes regarding their health and benefit programs, acting as the primary consultant and relationship manager, working alongside other talented members of the benefits consulting team to help our clients succeed.

Practically speaking, the Account Executive role encompasses a wide variety of activities. Aside from managing the overall client relationship and service delivery, you will be responsible for partnering with our clients to build multi-year strategies and drive the creation of solutions to address complex issues. You will also serve as the subject matter expert in the new business sales process.

To be effective in this role, you need to build deep relationships with clients and learn about their business, benefits, and human capital needs, so that clients are comfortable collaborating with LoVasco to identify and resolve any issues related to their Total Rewards program.

Job Responsibilities

Client Consultation & Relationship Management. The Account Executive serves as the primary client-facing consultant, delivering proactive support and responsive service. Lead client meetings, facilitate discussions with HR and executive stakeholders, and present strategies, benchmarking data, and financial analyses in a clear, compelling manner. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships based on trust, expertise, and consistent delivery of value.

Benefits Strategy & Plan Management. Develop, analyze, and manage group insurance programs—including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability—in the context of broader employee total rewards strategies. Provide data-driven insights to clients regarding plan performance, cost management, and employee engagement. Collaborate with clients to design benefits strategies that balance cost-effectiveness with competitiveness in the marketplace.

Multi-Year Strategic Planning. Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate benefit plan performance, identify emerging trends, and recommend innovative solutions. Partner with clients on long-term benefits strategies that align with organizational goals and workforce needs.

Quality Assurance & Deliverables. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and professionalism of all client deliverables, including reports, financial analyses, presentations, and compliance documents. Take ownership of both individual and team outputs, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and attention to detail in every client interaction and project outcome.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulatory requirements impacting employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit plans, including PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA. Ensure client benefit programs remain compliant by monitoring legislative updates, advising on compliance strategies, working with legal counsel partners, and supporting the preparation of required filings, notices, and documentation. Serve as a trusted resource to clients by translating complex regulations into practical, actionable guidance.

Sales & Business Development Support. Support sales and growth initiatives by assisting with preparing client-ready presentations and proposals. Partner with business development teams during prospect presentations and finalist meetings. Contribute expertise in plan design, compliance, and cost modeling to help win new business and strengthen the firm's market presence. Maintain strong industry and carrier relationships to keep abreast of innovations and identify opportunities to enhance service capabilities.
