Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being in various settings such as home care, assisted living facilities, or group homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's well-being.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in the client's condition.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans.
  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and physical activity.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Skills

  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is beneficial.
  • Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in health status.
  • Ability to assist with memory care, Alzheimer's care, and dementia care strategies.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Proficiency in cleaning and maintaining a hygienic environment for clients.
  • Capability of heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams. This position requires a genuine passion for caregiving and a commitment to improving the lives of those we serve through compassionate support and dedicated assistance.
