Overview

We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping others while maintaining a well-organized and efficient checkout area.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for processing transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
  • Maintain knowledge of products to provide effective product demonstrations and upselling opportunities.
  • Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure the store is well-presented and fully stocked.
  • Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, utilizing strong phone etiquette when necessary.
  • Perform basic math calculations for accurate cash handling and retail math operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service.

Skills

  • Proficiency in operating POS systems and cash registers.
  • Previous supervising experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
  • Strong phone etiquette for effective communication with customers over the phone.
  • Ability to upsell products effectively during customer interactions.
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques to display products attractively.
  • Experience in stocking shelves efficiently while maintaining organization.
  • Background in retail sales with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
