Job Summary

The Clinical Operations Coordinator supports management in the daily administrative operations of the assigned area. Will plan, direct and coordinate administrative functions associated within the assign area including ordering of supplies, maintaining inventory details, and monitoring of equipment. The Clinical Operations Coordinator will leverage project management skills to prioritize and complete all assigned tasks, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting assigned areas, and interacts with all levels of internal and external customers to answer questions and resolve issues as they arise. The incumbent will be expected to assist management with projects and other assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications: Certification and licenses requirements will be dependent upon assigned clinical area

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Three (3) years of relevant professional or clinical experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in team environment under stressful situations
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; ability to navigate a Windows based environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Principal Accountabilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of the assigned work area. Responsible for performing a full range of tasks to monitor and ensure excellence and quality in clinical service operations performance.
  • Facilitates throughput in the clinical area and the model of care for patient outcomes applying evidence based practices in accordance with unit policies and procedures. Will formulate recommendation to policies and procedures to ensure quality service and best business practice to increase operating efficiencies.
  • Uses independent judgment to investigate matters and give recommendations to management.
  • Provides consultative advice to management on improvement of or implementation of policies and processes for the operation.
  • Monitors all issues which adversely affect patient care at assigned sites; collaborates with client services and initiates resolution or asks for management assistance with resolution.
  • Personnel responsibilities' to include accountability for safety, quality, efficiency and effective staff performance within the clinical service area.
  • Identify workflow strategies that project accurate case scheduling and staffing needs.
  • Assures resolution of issues involving equipment or services to ensure departmental completion of daily work.
  • Creates a work environment which supports collaboration; serves as an educational resource to the staff; participates in educational in-service programs and orientation and training of new staff.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
