Our client is a VC backed Financing Fintech platform focusing on lending and credit for individuals and SMB's. They are hiring a number 2 role under the CFO. You will oversee the Assistant Controller who does a full cycle role

They are hiring a newly created role for an ambitious candidate who wants that Head of Finance or Finance Director role where you can oversee Financial Reporting, and add direct value by focusing on financial strategies, implementing financial policies, support forecasting and budgeting processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

They have raised $60m and growing revenues, next target is now profitability and job title can be flexible around VP or Finance, or Director of Accounting - its more about the individual and their ability to implement best practice - including systems, processes etc

The role

Hybrid - 3 days office (Tue - Thur) Iselin, NJ (Remote is not possible)

Salary $200 - $220k

Ideal candidate

  • CPA with about years of experience. Probably at Controller or HOF Level. Open to non CPA if very strong profile doing similar role already.
  • Ideally from a scrappy VC startup who has had autonomy to own full accounting processes
  • Financial Services Experience - Essential. Loan transactions and interest income revenue experience
  • SMB experience would be great - Especially in scrappy VC backed startup who has already been through journey as a controller
  • Banking and understanding credit etc - Really preferable

Duties

  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting Oversee financial reporting and analysis, including day-to-day accounting operations
  • Manage the company's treasury function, including funding and capital requirements Work closely with external auditors to drive timely accounting conclusions for revenue recognition.
  • Act as a primary point of contact throughout the annual audit process for external/internal auditors and consultants on technical revenue matters
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards
  • Conduct recurring and ad-hoc reporting to internal teams, investors and capital partners
  • Analyze data, determine trends and effectively communicate actionable insights to C-suite management including Board of Directors
  • Evaluate and improve internal accounting processes, including systems and tools required to support the company's growth targets
  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and long-term financial plans
  • Collaborate with the executive team to drive business growth and profitability
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions
