Adult Ministry and Care Coordinator

Reporting to the Care and Groups Executive Pastor, this position will assist in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of faith development and engagement opportunities. The position will provide support to the Care Ministry, Adult Ministry, Community Nights, and Life groups.

Position Summary:

Job Location: This is an on-site position in central Naperville, IL.

Hours: 20 hours per week including Monday evenings and up to 6 Saturday or Sundays per year.

Compensation: This is an hourly position with the rate of pay is $19.00-$21.00 per hour.

Organization Overview:

Good Shepherd Church is focused on serving the spiritual needs of our local community and on leveraging the time, talents and financial resources of people in this area to help others in our community, across the nation and around the world. Good Shepherd has over 20 employees and about 700 active members who attend services weekly. They also have over 15 different ministries to connect with members of the church ranging from children, teens, and adults as well as focused ministries such as grief support and mental health awareness. Responsibilities:

The Adult Ministry and Care Coordinator provides support to the following areas:

• Life Groups: 30% of the time
• Community Nights: 30% of the time
• Adult Ministry (cohorts, women's ministry, 55+ community, couples/marriages events and men's events. 20% of the time
• Care Ministry including Grief Support, Divorce Care, Dementia Support, Meals Team, Visitation Team, Care Ministers, and Prayer- 20% of the time
• Assists in recruiting, training, coaching, and recognizes volunteers and leadership teams in Adult and Care Ministry.
• Manages the weekly prayer request list and grief book mailings, puts in communications requests, schedules facility needs for groups, seminars, and events, and creates Realm registrations.
• Serves as key support leader during Community Nights and sets up hospitality component for rooms
• Oversees Life Groups through creating weekly sermon guides, supporting and training leaders and coaches, facilitating meetings, and assisting in recruitment.
• Maintains, tracks, and updates ministry files, databases, budgets, attendance, and program materials for various ministry areas
• Collaborates with other ministry areas and leaders when needed.
• Attends staff meetings and church events as appropriate.
• Coordinates and communicates activities with church staff, church members, and others in the community
• Makes pre-approved purchases within allotted budget

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent in work experience and training
• Ability to actively participate in our faith community
• Growing and personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• A commitment to the mission and values of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
• Ability to attract, develop, and lead individuals and ministry teams
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong organizational skills
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient at Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint)
