Role Summary
The Retail Operations Specialist supports the operations of the company store and provides outstanding customer service to Alaska Air Group's internal and external customers. As an individual contributor, this role helps support company store promotion initiatives, product development, and inventory management.

Key Duties

  • Provides outstanding customer service and maintains an upbeat tone for a positive customer experience.
  • Manages the presentation and housekeeping for the store location and ensures opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Shares customer feedback and identifies new opportunities to generate excitement and sales.
  • Utilizes knowledge of reporting levels (e.g., safety, replenishment, and obsolete stock) to monitor inventory and to ensure adequate supplies to meet the annual business plan for store sales.
  • Supports promotions/product development projects by partnering with divisions, reviewing available merchandise and product options, ordering merchandise, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Administers inventory storage and communicate with manager to identify inventory challenges and makes recommendations to sell aged inventory.
  • Buys products (new and replenishment) as approved by the manager and administer logistics for shipping from the supplier.
  • Manages all day-to-day supplier interactions and transactions.
  • Evaluates the performance capabilities and production capacity of suppliers and identifies opportunities to rationalize supply base.
  • Develops positive, collaborative internal and supplier relationships.
  • Monitors website sales and inventory levels.
  • Interfaces with suppliers on a weekly basis to ensure prompt follow through on outstanding product deliveries and resolve quality and delivery issues.
  • Analyzes product invoices and submit to manager for approval.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly sales and budget reports for manager.
  • Prepares for and attends all company-sponsored events that require company store presence.
  • Assists in the training of company store new hires and temps.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required

  • Bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in retail buying and merchandising is strongly desired.
  • Strong retail math skills, to include budgeting, computing ratios, rates, and percentages to determine product usage, product pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrating care and excellent follow through in helping customers with purchase decisions and questions about available merchandise.
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with an emphasis on collaborative teamwork.
  • Ability to listen perceptively, convey awareness, establish rapport, and trust with others

Salary Range
$58, $81,550 / year

Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note:
We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
