Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our service team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, extensive experience with automotive diagnostics, and proficiency in repairing a wide range of vehicle systems. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of vehicles, including GM models, and to utilize advanced tools and techniques to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety. The Automotive Mechanic will play a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction through high-quality repairs and maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, powertrain, suspension, alignment, brakes, shocks & struts, tires, and oil changes
- Repair and service diesel engines, air brake systems, and other specialized automotive systems
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs such as welding, auto body work, and component replacement
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to identify issues and execute precise repairs
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and suspension repairs
- Diagnose complex mechanical problems related to automotive electrical systems and auto estimating processes
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and recommendations clearly
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with dealership or independent shop background preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics, powertrain systems, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with GM vehicles is a plus
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software
- Ability to perform oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts replacements
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), auto body repair, auto estimating processes, and maintenance procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in diesel engine repair and automotive electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in vehicle repair tasks
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred
