Director of Programming – Customer Experience
Civitas Senior Living | Multi-Site Leadership | Travel 75–100%
Bring your creativity, leadership, and heart for seniors to a company that's reimagining what senior living can be.
Civitas Senior Living is seeking a Director of Programming to lead resident engagement and customer experience initiatives across our Independent Living and Assisted Living communities. In this senior leadership role, you will design and scale innovative, resident-centered programs that reduce loneliness, create meaningful connections, and bring our mission to life every day.
What You'll DoAs our Director of Programming, you will:
- Set the strategy for resident engagement and programming across all communities—integrating physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and purposeful living dimensions.
- Own our signature experiences – from wellness initiatives and brain health to music, art, intergenerational programs, volunteer partnerships, and community service campaigns.
- Standardize excellence by creating calendars, toolkits, templates, and seasonal campaigns that make it easy for Activity Directors to deliver high-quality, compliant programs every day.
- Coach and develop teams by mentoring Activity Directors and community leaders, leading onboarding and ongoing training, and building competency models and performance standards.
- Drive performance through data – define KPIs (participation, satisfaction, loneliness reduction, family feedback), analyze trends, and partner with leaders to take action.
- Shape the customer experience as a key member of the Customer Experience team, aligning programming with hospitality standards, family engagement, and brand differentiation.
- Lead Civitas Cares – our volunteer and service programs that connect residents, families, team members, and community partners in meaningful ways.
- 7+ years of experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field, with multi-site leadership of engagement or programming functions.
- Proven success designing and scaling programs for older adults, with strong understanding of dementia care programming and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated strength in team leadership, training, and coaching across diverse locations.
- Comfort with data, budgeting, and project management – you use metrics to tell the story and drive improvement.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; you can influence at all levels, from on-site team members to C-suite leaders.
- Ability and willingness to travel 40–60% to support communities in person.
- Opportunity to shape the enterprise-wide resident experience strategy in a growing, mission-driven organization.
- Direct impact on quality of life for residents and on the day-to-day experience of our teams.
- Collaborative Customer Experience, Operations, Wellness, Sales, Dining, and Memory Care partners who value innovation and continuous improvement.
- Competitive compensation and benefits package, with room to grow as our organization continues to expand.
If you're a strategic, hands-on leader who loves turning ideas into programs that change lives, we'd love to talk with you.
Apply today with your resume and a brief summary of a multi-site program you've led that improved resident or customer engagement.
