In our 101-bed home, we serve a variety of residents including behavioral health, dementia, skilled nursing, long term care and out-patient therapy. General Purpose: The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for assisting the Administrator and Director of Nursing in keeping the facility in state and life safety compliance, good repair, safe, clean, and operational through utilization of a preventative maintenance and repair program, cleaning, and laundry schedules. He/She must assist in coordinating maintenance, cleaning, and laundry activities within the functionality of all other department heads, administration, and residents.
Essential Job Functions: This facility expects their employees to promote an atmosphere of teamwork with other employees and hospitality and comfort for its residents. Therefore, the following list of duties is not all-inclusive.
· Assist in the implementations of departmental policies and procedures to assure that the maintenance of the premises, facility, and equipment is current at all times
· Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility to assure that maintenance programs can be properly planned and maintained to meet the needs of the facility
· Assist in assuring that the facility and equipment is properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience
· Working knowledge of computers, email, word, excel, and various computer programs as needed.
· Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. and submitting such to the Administrator or Director of Nursing as required
· Assist in ensuring that the maintenance department's administrative procedures are followed
· Assist in inspecting, maintaining, and testing fire alarm and emergency systems in accordance with established policies & procedures. Assist in maintaining appropriate records of test results
· Follow preventative maintenance program of cleaning, painting, maintaining facility equipment, etc. as necessary/approved
· Follow the established priority system on unscheduled maintenance
· Maintaining the heating and cooling units/systems in proper working condition, as specified by the manufacturer. Prior to the onset of seasonal changes, assist in inspecting the system for loose wires, broken lines, leaks, etc. and pre-start unit/system to assure proper working order
· Create and or participate in programs designed for in service education, on-the-job training, and orientation classes for newly assigned department personnel when necessary
· Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc. to keep abreast of current changes in maintenance procedures
· Maintaining written records of department expenditures
· Recommendations to the Administrator, or Director of Nursing of the equipment and supplies needed for the department
· Assist in maintaining a facility that is neat in appearance and odor free at all times.
· Creating a regular schedule of all daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning requirements.
· When necessary clean (including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, polishing, etc.) rooms, offices, and common areas; confirm residents' rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained in an attractive manner and residents' personal items are safeguarded.
· Assist with transferring resident and belongings, (bed, furniture, etc.) from one room to another.
· Maintain work area free of hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, excessive supplies, equipment, etc.
· Maintain work and storage areas and equipment in a clean, neat, sanitary and safe condition. Properly clean and store all equipment and supplies.
· Create and/or attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements.
· Create, maintain, and be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill & Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information
· Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information
· Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
· Protect the personal property of the residents of the facility.
· Other related duties and activities as may become necessary or as directed by the Administrator, and or Director of Nursing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55, $70,000.00 per year
