Overview

  • We are seeking a mid-level ETL/ELT Developer to support a key federal client. The ideal candidate will bring experience in data engineering, data integration, and ETL/ELT development, particularly with SAP Data Services and Oracle. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring on-site presence three days per week.
  • Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Develop SAP Data Services jobs to extract, transform, and load data from various source systems into Oracle-based data marts and data warehouses.
  • Gather, document, and refine business and technical requirements to support end-to-end data processing workflows.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and fellow developers to deliver robust and scalable data solutions.
  • Maintain and support existing SAP Data Services implementations.
  • Follow and enforce best practices in system design, development, and documentation.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for data processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing ETL processes for data warehousing and migration projects.
  • 5+ years of experience writing SQL.
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Familiarity with SAP Data Services or equivalent ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, IBM DataStage).
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling (3+ years).
  • Experience working within Agile development teams.
  • Knowledge of ETL best practices, performance optimization, and data modeling.
  • Requirements gathering and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized team player with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in federal government contracting.
  • 2+ years with additional programming languages such as T-SQL or PostgreSQL.
  • 3+ years of experience in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
