Rick's new Eugene store is seeking a Yard Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of daily yard operations, including staff supervision, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and customer support. Rick's is a locally owned company with over 45 years of being the premier fence and deck builder in the Pacific Northwest,offering a strong foundation of craftsmanship, reliability, and community-focused values.

If hired, we may require travel to other Rick's locations during the training period before the Eugene store officially opens.

Hours: Monday – Friday with occasional Saturdays

Pay: $48k - $55k per year salary D.O.E.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Yard Operations & Logistics

  • Oversee daily yard activities, including material handling, organization, storage, and vehicle/equipment movement.
  • Check installation crews in and out, track hours, and ensure accurate material counts.
  • Maintain overall yard cleanliness and efficient workflow across departments.

Customer & Crew Support

  • Assist customers with loading orders and verifying correct quantities.
  • Address customer concerns, support sales as needed, and coordinate with internal teams.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and movement both onsite and between branches.
  • Receive, organize, and dispatch materials; maintain accurate documentation through software systems.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely and effectively.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, schedule routine servicing, and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training; maintain required safety documentation.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and mentor yard staff.
  • Assign daily tasks, manage scheduling, complete performance evaluations, and promote a culture of teamwork, safety, and accountability.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs or more.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively resolve operational issues and conflicts.
  • General understanding of equipment maintenance and ability to identify malfunctioning machinery.
  • Proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Office Suite) and inventory/yard management systems (YMS).

Certifications & Experience

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Forklift experience is required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus (not required).

Pay: $ $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
