The Accounting Associate provides critical support in auction transaction posting, account reconciliation, and special accounting projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to our auction-specific business model.

Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing & Accounts Receivable:

  • Review and enter customer information into accounting software system.

  • Process invoice corrections and adjustments.
  • Verify payment information is entered correctly and completely.
  • Process customer payments and maintain customer records.
  • Monitor aging reports and identify overdue accounts.
  • Reconcile AR subsidiary ledger to general ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies
  • Transaction Processing & Accounts Payable:
  • Review and enter vendor information into accounting software system.
  • Verify invoice information is entered correctly and completely.
  • Process vendor payments and maintain vendor records.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account balances.
  • Auction Transaction Support:
  • Post and reconcile auction transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review transaction details for proper recording.
  • Assist with seller settlement and buyer collection processes.
  • Support high-volume daily transaction processing.
  • Account Reconciliation:
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform bank and payment processor reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all reconciliations.
  • Month-End & Year-End Support:
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare journal entries under supervision.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet closing deadlines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work with internal teams to gather financial information for reporting purposes.
  • Respond to inquiries from other departments regarding transactions and accounts.
  • Support audit processes by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Communicate effectively across departments in fast-paced environment.
  • Process Improvement & Special Projects:
  • Participate in special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Assist with accounting software implementation and optimization.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update accounting records in compliance with company policies.
  • Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or related field equivalent, Bachelor's preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Sage Intacct, and/or other accounting software.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 2+ years of applicable work experience.
  • Effective communication within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Familiarity with auction or e-commerce industries is a plus.
  • Spanish speaking bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work in the U.S
  • Requires the ability to successfully complete a background check.

Working Settings:

  • Full-time Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime.
  • Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, additional hours may be required depending on priorities.
  • Based in the Purple Wave Satellite Office in Manhattan, KS (2627 KFB Plz #201e, Manhattan, KS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate varies based on experience and qualifications, but typically ranges from $19.23per hour to $26.44 per hour and is paid bi-weekly.
  • Monthly Bonus Program - determined by the Company's monthly revenue result and are paid on a "percent to plan" payout formula (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200).
  • Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after start date.
  • 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment
  • Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
  • Fully paid Short-Term Disability provided by the Company.
  • Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year.
  • Eligible to participate in the Company Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) after 90 days of employment, with enrollment opportunities each May and November.
