About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced Chef or Food Service Professional to join our Hempstead, NY office. This position supports multiple skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Florida by managing food purchasing operations through an online purchasing platform and serving as a key link between Food Service Managers, vendors, and the Accounts Payable team.

If you have a strong background in foodservice or culinary operations and enjoy the organizational, computer-based side of the business—purchasing, budgeting, and vendor communication—this role offers the perfect balance of structure and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and process all food and supply orders through the online purchasing system (training provided).
  • Review, verify, and match Purchase Orders (P.O.s) with invoices and delivery confirmations.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable (AP) team
  • Track pricing, substitutions, and vendor performance to maintain cost control.
  • Communicate daily with Food Service Managers and vendors to troubleshoot order or delivery issues.
  • Support budget monitoring and ensure alignment with menu and facility needs.
  • Work primarily from the Hempstead office with limited remote flexibility.

Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of foodservice or culinary management experience (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, vendor communication, and P.O./invoice processes.
  • Proficient with computers and web-based purchasing programs.
  • Excellent communication, follow-through, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable and detail-oriented professionals who are able to work independently.
