Director of Financial Planning

SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, is a detail-oriented and strategic thinker. This role involves overseeing our financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, and leading financial analysis that aligns with our company's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting, and the ability to work well within a team and act as a collaborative advisor to cost center managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Oversee and manage the financial planning and analysis function
- Lead and monitor the company's consolidated annual budget and forecast processes
- Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives
- Active participant in month-end close and year-end audit processes
- Lead the creation of reports, software implementation, and tools for budgeting and forecasting
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Implement a business intelligence tool and dashboard/KPI reports
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Proven experience as a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Budget Manager, or similar role
- Strong collaborator, advisor, motivator, and excellent communicator; proactive and growth mindset
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS Office and financial management software

None.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a largely sedentary position, requiring the ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time. Extensive use of computer, keyboard and mouse. Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at conversational levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 10 pounds to waist height; and to bend, stoop, walk and reach overhead.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Expected hours of the position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Nights and weekends may be required to meet the expectations of the job.

No travel is expected.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- Proven experience as a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Budget Manager, or similar role
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- MS in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field, or MBA
