About Brodie Studios

Brodie Studios is a South Austin–based nonprofit creative hub dedicated to keeping Austin's music scene alive. We provide affordable recording, performance, and production opportunities for local musicians while mentoring the next generation of engineers, producers, and creatives.

We operate from a professional multi-room recording facility shared with working artists, bands, and content creators — giving interns the chance to gain real-world experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Position: Studio & Creative Intern (Part-Time)

Location: South Austin (Brodie Lane area)

Schedule: Flexible 10–15 hrs/week, M–Sat availability preferred

Compensation: School credit or stipend depending on experience and funding (to be discussed during interview)

What You'll Do

Interns at Brodie Studios are matched with mentors based on their interests and skills. You'll work directly with active musicians and our in-house production team. Responsibilities may include:

Audio / Production Track

  • Assist in recording sessions, mic setup, DAW prep (Ableton, Pro Tools, Logic)
  • Help manage session files, backups, and project documentation
  • Observe mixing/mastering sessions and contribute to post-production workflow

Video / Livestream Track

  • Help operate multi-camera setups (OBS, PTZ, GoPro, Pixy 4K)
  • Assist in editing and clipping performances for social media and YouTube
  • Learn lighting, audio sync, and post-production techniques

Creative / Marketing Track

  • Capture behind-the-scenes content for social media
  • Design flyers and promotional posts (Canva, CapCut, etc.)
  • Support event planning, artist showcases, and media releases

Administrative / Operations Track

  • Support scheduling, outreach, and project coordination
  • Assist with grant writing, nonprofit documentation, and partner communication

Who You Are

  • A college student or recent grad studying Audio Engineering, Music Production, Film, Communications, Marketing, or Arts Management
  • Passionate about music, creativity, and Austin's cultural scene
  • Reliable, positive, and collaborative — thrives in an unpretentious, high-energy studio environment
  • Basic knowledge of recording, editing, or social media tools is a plus (we'll teach you the rest)
