Overview

We are seeking a Public Health Analyst to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who serves as the national focus for developing and applying disease prevention and control activities designed to improve the health of the people of the United States. Candidates will work at a prominent and vibrant CDC worksite in Atlanta, GA to obtain program operations, applied research support services for activities related to the Translation Branch (THEEB) mission. This position is a contingent position that is subject to a federal contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement public health projects ensuring that deadlines and milestones are met.
  • Analyze and report on public health problems and activities using research techniques.
  • Provide consultation to staff and management on public health programs.
  • Provide advice and guidance to management.
  • Gather information for data calls, policy-related issues, program inquiries, and package draft responses.
  • Provide updates, set up meetings and organize information.
  • Review work plans, organize information and summarize each project, and ensure awareness of any project that might apply to information requests.
  • Create or maintain databases or spreadsheets for organizing and tracking relevant artifacts including but not limited to staffing actions, cooperative agreements, grants, contracts, interagency and other agreements, and outside funding sources to include summaries, important milestones, deadlines, or timelines.
  • Organize files for the major documents mentioned above and assist in gathering data and assimilating information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of principles and strategies to plan and execute public health projects.
  • Ability to design, test and implement information technology tools and systems such as SharePoint, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint for use within the Branch.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to interpret program policies and procedures establish priorities and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of DHHS, CDC, and DDT, government regulations and standard operating procedures and work toward developing the ability to apply these in day-to-day operations.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, and techniques of written and verbal communication. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • The contractor shall be able to prioritize the daily workloads by applying organizational skills and maintaining schedules of work.
  • Knowledge of records management practices and adhere to the policies set forth.
