About the Position

The city of Las Vegas Department of Neighborhood Services invites applications for Professional (Health and Wellness). The city of Las Vegas Neighborhood Services Department is seeking a qualified part-time professional to provide administrative support to street outreach programs to include data collection, analysis, reporting and data base management under the Health and Wellness division. This position may require some weekend hours. This is an hourly part-time professional position. Scheduled hours for this position are limited to 19 hours or less per week (Shift will be Mon - Thurs either morning or afternoon). Hourly employees are also limited to 1,560 hours of work in any 18-month period.

Location: Varies – travel required

Supervision Received

Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process will include a review of all applications with only the most qualified participating in an interview. Some positions may require preliminary background checks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform administrative duties including data collection, data entry, document preparation and maintaining records with high level of confidentiality and accuracy
  • Support program staff in managing client file and documentation
  • Provide timely and empathetic communication with clients
  • Assists in the preparation of reports and presentations related to outreach programs and aftercare planning
  • Coordinate with external agencies and partners to facilitate partnerships
  • Manage incoming calls and emails, providing program information, updates and redirecting queries as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings as required.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application and maintain thereafter
