— mission-critical facilities engineered for complex
AI/ML workloads at hyperscale
. This position is central to realizing our vision of a world-class AI/ML infrastructure platform.

You will oversee the full engineering lifecycle for HPC Centers, spanning
mechanical, electrical, controls systems, and digital infrastructure
. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical mastery in data center and mission-critical engineering, with proven experience managing interdisciplinary teams and delivering
robust, scalable, and efficient HPC facilities
.

Because our programs are
schedule-driven and high-stakes
, this role requires a decisive, assertive leader with exceptional technical depth, strong instincts, and the ability to communicate effectively with both engineering teams and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the
    engineering roadmap
for HPC Center buildouts, aligning with long-term AI/ML platform growth and strategic objectives.
  • Serve as the
    technical authority
on infrastructure architecture, resiliency, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure all HPC Center designs meet or exceed industry standards while remaining adaptable to emerging technologies.
  • Implement
baseline control and disciplined change management
    across all engineering programs.
  • Develop and monitor
    engineering KPIs
to drive high-probability outcomes and accelerate learning across successive build iterations (e.g., PUE, performance, reliability).
  • Oversee all phases of facility development:
site assessment, conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning
    .
  • Ensure full compliance with
    safety, environmental, and regulatory
    requirements.
  • Build and lead a
    multidisciplinary engineering organization
, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and reliability disciplines.
  • Optimize systems for
    high-density compute
, liquid and air cooling, and overall energy efficiency.
  • Stay informed on
    technological breakthroughs
and apply innovative solutions to enhance reliability, performance, and sustainability.
  • Interface with external partners — including
construction managers, OEM vendors, general contractors, and design firms
    — to align technical delivery with program goals.
  • Oversee implementation of
monitoring, alerting, and fault management systems
    across HPC infrastructure.
  • Maintain detailed
    engineering documentation
    and enforce rigorous
    QA/QC standards
    throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in
    Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering
    discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in
    mission-critical engineering
(e.g., Data Centers, Weapons Systems, Aerospace, or Offshore Oil & Gas), including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Deep understanding of
interconnected power, mechanical, and controls systems
    in dynamic compute environments.
  • Proven success in
    designing, delivering, and operating
large-scale HPC or equivalent complex technical facilities.
  • Exceptional
    leadership, communication, and decision-making
    abilities in fast-moving, interdisciplinary environments.
  • Bonus:
Experience translating AI/ML workload requirements into infrastructure design specifications for compute, power, and cooling.
  • Bonus:
Demonstrated success leading full lifecycle delivery of large-scale engineering programs from concept through operations.
