We are looking for a skilled, professional Pharmacist. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division and provide critical care to patients with mental illness.

The Norfolk Regional Center is a psychiatric hospital that provides inpatient mental health and sex offender treatment for individuals. We aim to give hope and possibilities for a future without more offenses.

Under limited supervision, performs professional work in dispensing medications in a state hospital/institutional facility. Your role will involve ensuring the appropriateness of prescription, proper dosages, maintaining accurate records and consultation with medical staff regarding drug therapy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Medication Dispensation: Assess prescription appropriateness. Evaluate and determine potential drug-drug, drug disease, and drug-diet interactions, and effects of patient-related variable in treatment. Fill and dispense medications to meet patient needs.

Collaboration: Confer with providers, nurses, and other healthcare personnel on drug indications, contraindications, incompatibility of certain drugs, side effects, adverse reactions, and alternative medications. Consult with physicians in areas such as drug therapy selection, pharmacokinetics, nutritional support, and determination of therapeutic endpoints.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for all drugs. Compliance with state and federal laws, hospital regulations, accreditation standards, and professional pharmaceutical ethics.

Requirements / Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications: Registered Pharmacist or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, Licensed in Nebraska as a pharmacist.

Preferred Qualifications : Previous experience as a pharmacist.

Salary: Negotiable
