What Are We Looking For?

Novant Health Urgent Care is currently looking for an Occupational Medicine Support Specialist to join our team. The Occupational Medicine Administrative Assistant oversees all incoming occupational medicine-related phone calls, creating workers' compensation case files, obtaining previous treatment records, and scheduling Director of Occupational Medicine Director and Clinical Orthopedist appointments. Communicates with workers' compensation adjusters of appointments and referrals. The administrative assistant acts as a liaison for employers and Novant Health Urgent Cares medical providers.

Do You Have What It Takes?

A good candidate will bring with them:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A.S. degree in Medical Assisting or Medical Assisting certificate
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
  • One (1) or more years of experience in an occupational medicine environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate well with a wide variety of individuals
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills; including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks; and strong attention to details
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience handling and maintaining the security of sensitive and confidential information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Ability to reflect our mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct.

An ideal candidate would also have:

  • Associate's degree in medical assisting
  • One (1) or more years of experience in administrative assisting role
  • One (1) or more years of experience in Occupational Medicine
