We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Application Platform Engineer to join our client's Technology team. This role is crucial in owning, designing, implementing, and maintaining applications that support our banking operations and ensure efficiency, security, and compliance. The Application Platform Engineer will be responsible for understanding customer needs, configuring and optimizing our banking products, providing technical support, and ensuring the successful deployment of our applications. The Application Platform Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions tailored to the financial industry.

Location:
Hybrid, once per week – can be in WA, OR, ID, CA, NV, UT, NM, or TX

Role & Responsibilities

  • Owner and strategic leader for multiple enterprise applications (i.e. JSM, Jira, Atlassian Cloud, TalkDesk, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Lead administrator of the CCaas and SaaS applications.
  • Design, configure, customize, and optimize banking applications to meet client specifications.
  • Coordinate and execute application installations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Provide post-deployment support to ensure seamless operations.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
  • Analyze customer feedback and transaction data to identify opportunities for improved functionality.
  • Monitor application usage, performance, licensing, and contract renewals.
  • Stay current on industry trends and partner with vendors for updates and enhancements for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their requirements and technical challenges.
  • Provide expert guidance on product capabilities and recommend solutions that align with business unit needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to integrate new banking technologies with existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure seamless data exchange between core systems, customer-facing platforms, and back-office applications.
  • Act as a technical liaison between IT, business units, and external partners to ensure alignment, define roadmaps, and strategic efforts that meet organizational goals.
  • Provide regular updates on application performance and project milestones to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and support materials.
  • Train end-users and internal teams on new applications and systems upgrades.
  • Drive end-user adoption, standardization, and best practices.
  • Know the company's technology, financial products, regulatory climate, and functionality needs and use them to support business units in improving their products and services.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank systems and processes to help with technical needs, projects, and audits.
  • Model integrity and professionalism, including personal appearance and conduct, banking industry knowledge, customer service and interpersonal skills, and value or needs-based selling techniques.
  • Ensure integrated, cross-departmental requirements planning for products, compliance, information, and functionality across departments efficiently to minimize the impact on business stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships across the Company and develop a basic working knowledge of functional roles to support problem resolution and quality service delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in administering CCaaS (Contact Center as a Service) and SaaS applications (i.e. JSM, Jira, Atlassian Cloud, TalkDesk, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, configurations, user permissions, best practices, governance, and change management.
  • Familiarity API integrations.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, server administration, and cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with cloud-based banking solutions and platforms
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Ability to solve problems, handle complex and confidential information, and work cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of bank systems, including operating and network systems, with a strong desire to learn more about these systems and other technologies.
  • Analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details.
  • Listening skills, understanding what people say, probing when appropriate, and helping them articulate their needs.
  • Must be team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
