About the Position:

Peña Aleczander is a growing Texas law firm handling criminal defense, commercial litigation, and business transactions. We are seeking an Entry-Level Legal Assistant who is organized, dependable, and eager to learn. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the legal profession and grow within a firm that values initiative, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Position Summary:

The Legal Assistant will work closely with attorneys to support active cases and firm operations. Prior legal experience is not required. We will provide hands-on training for the right candidate who demonstrates strong communication skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:


• Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.


• Maintain case files, calendars, and deadlines with accuracy.


• Draft and proofread letters, discovery responses, and court filings.


• Coordinate communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.


• Perform general office and administrative support tasks as needed.

Qualifications:


• Strong attention to detail and excellent writing and organizational skills.


• Professional demeanor and effective communication abilities.


• Reliable, punctual, and capable of managing multiple tasks at once.


• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Keynote. Training will be provided.


• Some college coursework preferred but not required.
