Employment Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Specialist to support individuals with disabilities in greater Jacksonville area. This is a community-based role where you'll meet clients in person — at workplaces, coffee shops, libraries, virtually and anywhere else to support their success. A key part of this role is using your job placement, job training, career counseling, or disability-employment experience to help clients secure and maintain employment.

If you enjoy being on the move, building relationships, and solving problems creatively, this role offers meaningful, hands-on impact every day. This role begin part-time hours ) and could lead to full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Help individuals with disabilities secure, retain, and succeed in competitive employment.
• Conduct interviews, assessments, and job-readiness evaluations to understand strengths and barriers.
• Develop and deliver individualized and group training focused on job skills, workplace behavior, and career development.
• Collaborate with employers, families, community organizations, and state agency partners to create long-term employment success.
• Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and on-site job support.

Required Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must have direct experience working with high school students or adults with disabilities in at least one of the following areas:

Job placement

Job training

Career counseling

Supported employment or job coaching

Additionally, applicants must meet one of the following education/experience pathways:

• Option 1: High school diploma and four years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Option 2: Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university, or a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an unrelated field, and two years experience as described above.
• Option 3: Bachelor's degree in a related field (rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, HR, business, economics, etc.) and one year of relevant experience
• Option 4: Master's degree in a related field and 6 months of relevant experience.

Additional requirements:

• Clean driving record and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a Level II background check and drug screening

Bonus experience: sales, hospitality, customer service, or social services.
