The Opportunity
The Cybersecurity Engineer IV with Commercial and GovCloud experience will lead the design, implementation, and management of advanced security solutions to protect enterprise and government cloud environments from evolving cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the cybersecurity program and lead key initiatives in data security, threat and vulnerability management, risk assessment, compliance, and security training.
- Develop and maintain enterprise cybersecurity awareness and training programs.
- Enhance the Information Security program through formal architecture processes that deliver consistent, secure, and resilient solutions.
- Manage and lead multiple projects, serving as project leader and mentor to junior technical staff.
- Design and develop security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with Information Security Managers to prioritize and execute capabilities aligned with the strategic roadmap.
- Maintain proactive communication and stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee cybersecurity policies and programs, vulnerability analysis, and system/network Assessment and Authorization (A&A).
- Identify and address program gaps or emerging issues through strategic interventions.
- Implement government security policies, provide tailored process recommendations, and ensure secure outcomes through team collaboration.
- Lead security reviews and assessments related to system deployment and control implementation.
- Analyze and validate existing security requirements and recommend additional safeguards as needed.
- Manage Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including documentation of System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring.
- Conduct security assessments of systems and networks, ensuring compliance with configuration and policy standards.
- Establish and maintain strict program controls to mitigate risk and support system certification and accreditation.
- Monitor, document, and address system vulnerabilities, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Lead configuration management and security planning efforts for enterprise systems.
Serve as the primary contact for cybersecurity policy guidance and implementation.
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain a TS/SCI within six (6) months of hire.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Cyber Security or equivalent area of studies
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities
- Eight (8) years plus experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cyber Security, and IT best practices including knowledge of frameworks, guidelines, and regulations (i.e., NIST, CNSS, etc.)
- Five (5) plus years in leading a diverse team of individuals towards a common goal
- Five (5) years plus Program/Project Management experience
- Must possess DoD 8570 Certification for IAM Level III
- Expertise with eMASS, Xacta or other RMF Cyber Security Management tools
- Expertise in the understanding of vulnerabilities, exploits, and practical working knowledge of DoD Cyber Security program
- Specific knowledge of DODI , NIST SP 800-37_Rev 2, CNSS 1253, NIST 800-53r4 and r4aExperience with managing a cybersecurity effort in an AWS Commercial and GovCloud instances
- Experience with IAVMs, DISA STIGs, and related Federal/DoD policies and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a military environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with Customers, team members, and support personnel
- Excellent analytical skills necessary to resolve problems across multiple environments
- Experience with DoD vulnerability scanning tools
- Expertise with managing a cybersecurity effort in an AWS Commercial and GovCloud instances
