Charlotte, North Carolina, United States Social Venture Partners Charlotte Full time

Company Description

Social Venture Partners Charlotte (SVP) is a philanthropic organization investing in and strengthening innovative nonprofits in Charlotte by cultivating a network of engaged donor volunteers through venture philanthropy. In this model of giving, donor volunteer members (called Partners) not only provide monetary grants but also invest their professional expertise and time to support a portfolio of nonprofits with strong potential to remove barriers to upward mobility. Through SVP's collective investment, the impact of each individual Partner's financial and human capital investment is amplified.
You can learn more about the organization at

SVP Charlotte carries out its mission in four ways:

  • Deep, multi-year investments
of financial and human resources in a select number of promising nonprofits called Investees (currently working with three). Each Investee receives expertise, capacity building support from our Partner group and a financial grant.
  • SEED20

Nonprofit participants are selected to receive coaching on how to succinctly and powerfully tell their story as well as capacity building programming throughout the year. The program includes a high-energy event with around 500 audience members and cash awards for the non-profit "3-minute pitch" winners.
  • Spark Teams
is a pro bono advisory program in which our Partners come alongside nonprofits in short, focused capacity building projects in the areas of strategy/governance, marketing, fundraising, operations, and finance.
  • Partner education
