Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Data Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the data architecture of supply chain reporting and analytics at Eskenazi Health. This role involves creating data models, ensuring data integrity, and implementing data management strategies to support clinical, operational and administrative functions. The Data Architect will work closely with supply chain, information technology, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure data systems meet organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
  • Design and develop data architecture solutions to support supply chain operations.
  • Create and maintain data infrastructure, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to monitor system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, information technology, clinical, and administrative teams to understand data requirements and reporting layouts.
  • Monitor and optimize data systems for performance and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for data-related projects.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects related to data mining, analytics and reporting.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years working experience in supply chain analytics, information technology, data mining or SQL roles accepted in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and database design.
  • Experience with data management tools and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in SQL and other database query languages.
  • Preferred experience with SQL, FTP, Excel, Power BI, SAP Ariba, SAP Fiori, Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI), Vizient Group Purchasing Organization and Global Health Exchange (GHX).
