Job Description:

A leading Real Estate Investment Management company in New York, NY, is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team The Property Accountant will be report to the Controller and will be responsible for handling the financial accounting for several hotel properties in NYC. All work must be in accordance with US GAAP.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly variance reporting to investors, to compare the company's performance to actuals, budgets and forecasts
  • Perform timely reconciliation of defined balance sheet accounts between the General ledger and SubLedger with clear substantiation of reconciling items and prompt resolution, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, security deposit control/customer accounts and utilities
  • Participate in special projects, while maintaining daily responsibilities
  • Prepare the monthly close of the US GAAP books
  • Prepare journal entries, facilitate the monthly PNL meetings, review financial information

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must have experience using Yardi, MRI is a plus
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups and SUMIFS
  • At least 5+ years in Property Accounting

Compensation:

  • $90,000 - $115,000
