Position Summary:

The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a hands-on, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for building robust financial infrastructure to support scalable growth.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000 per year (Exempt)

Location: Onsite - Huntington Beach, CA

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives, ensuring financial sustainability and operational scalability.
• Lead and manage all core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Produce and present accurate, timely, and insightful financial statements and dashboards to executive leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasts, and strategic planning cycles, working cross-functionally with key departments to align financial goals with operational priorities.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Lead annual financial audits, maintain tax compliance, and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
• Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency, transparency, and scalability as the company grows.
• Provide financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence support for strategic initiatives such as new store openings, partnerships, and capital investments.
• Mentor, and develop a strong accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Active CPA license preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or Master's in Accounting is a plus).
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the food & beverage, retail, or multi-unit business environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically while remaining detail-oriented.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (e.g.,SAGE Intact) is a plus.
