Job Overview

The North America Commodities Structurer is a strategic professional and a recognized subject matter expert responsible for originating and executing Commodities structured transactions, primarily focused on North American clients. This role involves regular interaction with sales, trading, and control teams, developing ideas, and expanding the boundaries of what is possible. Attention to detail is critical, especially in understanding complex legal documents.

Responsibilities

  • Hold a key role in pricing, developing, and booking innovative physical and financial products for clients. Participate in pre-trade & post-sales efforts, working closely with sales.
  • Consider and manage the impact of structured transactions on Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) and other capital metrics to ensure efficient use of bank capital. Understand XVA, CVA, DVA, and other related valuations, and manage and optimize these costs and valuations for transactions.
  • Structure and execute municipal gas and power prepay transactions, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the associated market dynamics, regulatory landscape, and financial implications.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance, supervision, expense discipline, and ethics.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services; ensure all team members understand the need to do the same. Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by the role, which will be communicated.

Required skillset:

  • Knowledge of structured financing, derivatives, municipal prepays, and bank regulatory capital calculations
  • Knowledge of Commodities deal capture systems (OpenLink / Endur is beneficial)
  • Familiarity with Commodities products such as HRCOs, load following trades, and Revenue Puts
  • Experience in solution-type trades (e.g., Structured financing, non-recourse financing, repo to maturity, etc.)
  • Familiarity with fixed income markets, including public credit and private credit

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of structuring experience from a financial institution
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple functional groups in a cohesive manner

Education

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$200, $300,000.00
