At Favor, we're doing more than providing consumers with the best on-demand delivery experience. We're building a community of Runners who can work how they want, when they want. And we're doing all this while growing local businesses and partnering with Texas' most beloved grocer, H-E-B. We put people in the center of everything we do. Our Product team advocates for our diverse users and our business, finding creative ways to serve them both.
We're looking for a Director of Product for Discovery and Engagement to help manage our talented product team and help Favor grow to become a household name in Texas and beyond. This growth product leader will serve as a user-driven, creative problem solver and strategic partner to leaders across the company. You'll lead product managers, set your domain's vision and strategy, and help drive customer growth and retention for Favor's marketplace product.
What you'll do:- Own and evolve the product strategy for the Discovery and Engagement part of Favor's Consumer roadmap.
- Drive and scale product-led growth initiatives across the early part of the customer journey – from onboarding, discovery, and search, to re-engagement through promotional levers and our subscription program.
- Grow, manage, and mentor the team of product managers that ladder up to your part of the roadmap, helping them to act as leaders and collaborators across the company – analytical, knowledgeable, end-user-obsessed, and skilled at deeply understanding and solving both user and business problems.
- Establish and develop the north star of the product narrative for your domain and help top-level stakeholders and larger audiences understand and feel involved in product work. Drive cross-functional alignment and decision-making, and collaborate with leadership and executive teams to drive outcomes.
- Develop and evolve the OKRs, product strategy, and roadmaps for your area, and ensure that they align with the broader product strategy and drive the right outcomes for users and the business; collaborate with other product directors and cross-functional leaders to ensure the collective roadmap achieves the company strategy as a whole.
- Oversee the process, resource management, and execution of your team, coordinating strategy across product managers and squads.
- Coordinate company-wide communication about the roadmap, telling the story of our users and our product goals and strategy.
- Ensure that market insights and conditions inform product direction at a strategic level; drive the use of analytics, financial data, and industry awareness/qualitative knowledge to inform product strategy and key decisions across the organization.
- Impart a user-centric and research-oriented product culture on teams outside of product/engineering, ensuring functional alignment around the roadmap and product strategy.
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
- 12+ years of experience in product management.
- 4+ years of direct management experience of product managers.
- Ideal candidates have experience in Growth Product Management for a B2C e-commerce product – specifically early customer funnel engagement, discovery and search, promotional/re-engagement strategy, and subscription/loyalty programs.
- Ideal candidates also have experience with underlying e-commerce promotional and merchandising systems and tools (e.g. Talon One, Segment, CRM platforms like Braze, and CMS platforms like Contentful).
- A track record of delivering excellent products that lead to great business results.
- Great communication, presentation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- You thrive while leading in a fast-paced, regularly changing environment. You turn chaos into order, and you love doing it. People look to you for guidance in times of turmoil.
- You are most comfortable when there's too much to do. You aren't easily overwhelmed, and you prioritize tasks naturally. You're not afraid to focus on one thing at a time when it's needed.
- You have high dynamic range. Ability to see the big picture but comfortable diving deep into the details. You're not above rolling up your sleeves and doing the grunt work.
- You love great products. You are excited by thoughtful design, and you appreciate attention to detail and fine craft.
- You show confidence AND humility. Ability to make decisions with the wisdom to change course as soon as needed. Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals without drama.
