The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing general building and equipment maintenance and repairs at various VIDA Fitness, Bang Salon, Aura Spa and Penthouse Pool Club locations. This position is 80% hands on and 20% administration.

This is a full-time, hourly position which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Individuals will be responsible for their assigned location(s) physical upkeep for all maintenance/ repair and general housekeeping items. A daily full-facility walkthrough is required.
  • All repair/ maintenance items need to be documented and reported to supervisor via ticket system app. Material/ parts orders will be done through supervisor.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot repairs to fitness equipment and all facility equipment (water fountains, steam, generators, sauna heaters, laundry equipment … etc.).
  • Basic plumbing; basic electrical; carpentry; drywall repair and finishing; masonry and tile installation and repairs; and other general building upkeep and repair items, as requested.
  • Monitor efficient operations of all air handling, boiler and heat systems, electrical systems, pool maintenance, etc.
  • Inspect and change filters and worn belts in air-handling units when necessary.
  • Manage quality and maintenance of outdoor landscaping and irrigation systems.
  • Effectively and safely use hand tools, power tools and small power equipment.
  • Ability to install and repair small equipment, mechanical systems, etc.
  • The ability to use phone and computer app to open, close, and update workorders in ticket system.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years handyman or related general construction experience
  • Working knowledge of the proper use of both hand and power tools, other types of equipment, and materials to safely and efficiently perform assigned tasks.
  • Candidate should have their own basic tools. Larger tools will be provided for specific work.
  • This individual must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Schedule must be flexible to occasionally be able to work on projects during off hours or in case of emergency situations.
  • Capable of handling and/or moving equipment that may exceed 100 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle for trips to supply centers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Fitness Equipment maintenance is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Service oriented, customer friendly attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Responsible for the completion of all assigned service requests and tasks.
  • Ability to complete repairs in an efficient manner.
  • CPR with AED Certification may be requirement dependent on duration of employment.
  • This individual must be able to interact with a diverse group of members and fellow team members; have excellent verbal and written communication skills; present a neat, professional appearance; and be reliable and organized.
  • A working knowledge of computers and the ability to make use basic software programs.
  • *Applicants must have their own transportation between locations and their own set of basic tools for repairs. Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel between locations.
