POSITION SUMMARY

The YMCA of South Sound is seeking a Childcare Quality and Compliance Specialist who is responsible for ensuring quality initiatives, as it pertains to all youth development programming. The Compliance Specialist will ensure high-quality goals are obtained through outcome-based measurements and additional direct tracking methods. This position is responsible for ensuring quality program standard compliance for all youth childcare programs. The position reports directly to the senior director of childcare.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assist in the development, tracking and reporting of program compliance relating to childcare operations and licensing.
  2. Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders. Initiate and maintain necessary relationships with licensors, senior director, program directors and other partners to ensure that all YMCA childcare services exceed industry standards for quality and excellence.
  3. Complete all license renewal forms and s
    tay up to date on all policies, procedures, and standards as established by the law or the Y (e.g., safety or emergency procedures, behavior guidance strategies, child abuse prevention policies); maintain the program site, equipment, and required program records.
  4. Maintain the MERIT portal for all childcare staff, including submitting paperwork for training approval and updating roster, helping staff send credits to MERIT for approval and updating necessary trainings, and supporting staff onboarding regarding MERIT, STARS, food handler's certification, DCYF employee portal accounts, and related trainings and requirements.
  5. Monitor and track required staff training
     in areas of licensing and program quality requirements, and other related topics. Assist in the identification of staff training needs and development activities.
  6. Monitor and track all staff certifications and send reminders to supervisors and staff to ensure all staff remain in compliance with licensing standards.
  7. Collaborate with SACC Program Directors to ensure IR Portal is up to date and meets all licensing standards. The Compliance Specialist will support Program Directors before and after site licensing visits to assist in any resolution and follow up with making updates in the portal.
  8. Collaborate with Finance Team to provide site reports to complete DCYF requirements for billing and administrative purposes.
  9. Conduct site visits and provide on-site assistance to staff and program directors relating to program standards compliance, staff development, and quality initiatives.
  10. Support the use of the SACC substitute scheduler system to ensure sites are following childcare ratio requirements.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience working with childcare in a licensed setting preferred.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC)
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  • Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Ability to navigate technological systems such as Microsoft office and other web-based portals.

UPON HIRE

  • Must complete Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 45 days of hire
  • Must complete New Employee Orientation within 45 days of hire.
