Supervisor, Corporate Security

GENERAL PURPOSE\:
The Corporate Security Supervisor is responsible for promoting the Loss Prevention key objectives through ensuring the safety, security, and protection of company assets within the corporate environment. This position will effectively manage the security program for the corporate offices to include physical security, safety, alarm response, access control, visitor's control, CCTV, etc. The Corporate Security Supervisor role is responsible for the supervision of security personnel. The Corporate Security Supervisor may participate in on-going company initiatives and independently communicate with associates at all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Delivering Exceptional Physical Security
• Ensure security personnel maintain a visible corporate security presence mitigating the potential loss of property while maintaining a safe and secure work environment
• Monitor and review corporate technologies on a regular basis or as directed
• Observe and communicate potential internal theft indicators to Corporate Security Leadership
Increasing Awareness and Response
• Supervise security personnel to provide effective security for the corporate facilities to include physical security, safety, alarm response, access control, visitor control and CCTV
• Responsible for the supervision of security personnel and/or third party vendors ensuring they maintain a professional presence at all times
• Prepare schedules, assign posts, and review invoices on a regular basis
• Manage and maintain access/key controls/visitor management system, which includes maintaining related supplies dealing with access control issues and technology failures, updating associate profiles and clearances, creating and disabling badges, etc.
• Ensure that life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional
• Respond to and manage Fire Command Station during alarm events
• As directed by Manager/Sr. Manager/Director ensure that all floors have fully staffed fire safety teams
• Participate/Conduct fire and/or evacuation drills as directed
• Provide clear direction and information to employees guests and visitors during emergency situations
• Maintain all logs and records related to Fire/EAP Plan as required by NYC Fire Code
• Perform CPR/AED and basic first aid as required
• Act as liaison to FDNY during building emergencies
Provide Support for Corporate Offices and Stores
• Supervise, support and ensure the security of confidential information
• Ensure security personnel monitor and protect the technology infrastructure and all related proprietary information by following security procedures
• Ensure that security personnel are assessing and communicating adherence to operational processes and controls
• Ensure security staff is utilizing daily and weekly checklists to ensure that operational processes and controls are in place to safeguard against corporate exposure
• Support leadership team with the assessment process as assigned
Developing Great Teams & Partnerships
• Assist with identifying and recruiting top talent for corporate security personnel
• Drive a performance management culture through third party partnerships
• Increase office awareness of security processes and procedures through positive interactions
• Identify and apply training methods to ensure continued development of corporate security personnel as directed by supervisor
• Foster effective external partnerships, liaising with all appropriate professional first responders. (i.e. P.D./F.D. etc.)
• Provide excellent customer service and timely follow up
• Develop and maintain effective internal partnerships through collaboration and regular statuses
• Ensure all floors have fire safety teams, including Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens and Building Evacuation Team members

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• College degree preferred
• 3-5 years of corporate security/life safety experience at supervisory level
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness a plus
• Former experience as certified NYC Fire Safety Director a plus
• Former law enforcement or fire department experience a plus
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, present information, and build and maintain relationships with all levels in an organization
• Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
• Proficient in MS Suite programs, use of a computer, email and internet
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day)
- Must be able to raise or lower objects weighing up to 25 lbs, from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
- Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, or crouch (frequency and duration will vary per daily business need)
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle (up to 3 hours per day) as business and travel needs dictate
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps or ladders occasionally during shift if needed
- Must be willing to work off hours and weekends
