About This Project:

This position supports RC Warner Consulting's partnership with the Washington State Department of Health to advance overdose prevention, recovery support, and equitable access to care across the state. Through this initiative, RC Warner Consulting is engaging communities, clinicians, and partner organizations to better understand barriers and opportunities surrounding substance use, recovery, and care access.

Community Engagement Consultants will play a vital role in connecting directly with community members and organizations, capturing insights that inform the design of trauma-informed, culturally responsive clinician trainings and community resources.

Position Overview:

RC Warner Consulting is seeking two Community Engagement Consultants (0.5–0.75 FTE each) to lead regional engagement activities across Washington State.

Consultants will connect with residents, community-based organizations, and healthcare stakeholders to ensure that diverse perspectives—especially from underserved and rural communities—are reflected in statewide prevention and recovery initiatives.

Assigned Washington State Counties:

  • Consultant A:
    Grays Harbor, Mason, Lewis, Thurston
  • Consultant B:
    Okanogan, Spokane, King, Yakima

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead community engagement activities (e.g., 1:1 interviews, focus groups, listening sessions) across assigned regions.
  • Build and sustain relationships with anchor organizations and regional partners (e.g., FQHCs, recovery programs, public safety agencies).
  • Coordinate logistics, recruitment, and outreach materials for engagement sessions
  • Synthesize findings into clear, actionable summaries that inform clinician training and resource development.
  • Provide cultural and contextual input to ensure all trainings reflect lived realities and equity principles.
  • Collaborate with RC Warner Consulting staff and external evaluators to ensure data validity and statewide representation.
  • Travel frequently for in-person engagements (travel expenses reimbursed).

Required Qualifications:

  • Based in Washington State with ability for frequent, multi-county travel.
  • Master's degree in public health, social sciences, or related field (required).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in community engagement, public health, social services, or related work.
  • Training or coursework in substance use, harm reduction, recovery, or public safety systems.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative data collection (interviews, focus groups, listening sessions).
  • Strong ability to synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage diverse populations and represent an organization professionally.
  • Highly self-directed and organized, with capacity to manage multiple priorities remotely.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Availability to begin between December 2025 and January 2026.
