About the Role

We're seeking a Client Accounting Manager who can oversee client deliverables, support and mentor bookkeepers, review monthly and yearly financials, and serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients.

This is a key leadership role within the firm — ideal for someone who's been a Senior Accountant and is ready to step into a management and quality-control position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping operations for a portfolio of clients.
  • Review financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, YTD reports) prepared by bookkeepers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end financial reports for clients.
  • Serve as the main client contact for assigned accounts — handling questions, clarifications, and deliverable timing.
  • Supervise and support the bookkeeping team; ensure deadlines and checklists are followed consistently.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients (QBO setup, chart of accounts review, software integration).
  • Implement and improve internal workflows, communication, and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with the owner on process optimization, client experience, and new service rollout (advisory, tax, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 7+ years
    of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Prior experience in a bookkeeping or accounting firm required.
  • CPA a plus
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online required.
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts and reviewing work prepared by others.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills — able to stay on top of many moving parts.
  • Comfortable in a hybrid environment with strong self-management skills.
