ADDICTION COUNSELOR: Intensive Outpatient Program seeking to hire a CIT, RAC, CAC, or LAC at our Baton Rouge Location.

Mayo Behavioral Health Services is a licensed facility currently seeking a counselor to join our growing team. Candidates must be passionate about helping those with substance dependencies and must be able to work effectively with individuals in a professional and respectful manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS graduate or equivalent (required);
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services field (preferred);
  • 1-year minimum experience with individuals facing substance dependency.
  • Credentialed through LA-ADRA as Counselor in Training (CIT), Certified Abuse Counselor (CAC), or Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Counsel clients, individually and/or in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making recovery changes.
  • Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals, such as doctors, nurses and clinicians.
  • Complete Assessments within 24 hours of admission into program.
  • Facilitate discharge planning and conduct post-discharge follow-up to assure that linkage of the patient with community resources has occurred reducing hospitalization.
  • Meet with supervisor for supervision.
  • Conduct therapy group sessions three-four times a week.
  • Proficient in electronic charting.
  • ASAM Criteria and Levels of Care.
  • Detox protocols, signs and symptoms.
  • Organized and self-disciplined.
  • Thorough documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
