Job Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the cardiologist, the Cardiology Testing RN specialist uses the
nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation along with specialized
knowledge and skills to oversee and provide high quality care to patients within the Cardiology
Testing Clinic. Ensures compliance with Federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
regulations and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) requirements. Incorporates
evidence-based nursing practices to support quality outcomes, customer experience and Value
Based Care consistent with health first standards.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Demonstrates competency in all aspects of cardiovascular testing performed within the clinic
including gaining IV access and knowledge of radiation and equipment safety.
- Oversees the daily operations of the Cardiology Testing Clinic to include patient intake evaluations,
chart evaluation for proper appointment placement and testing, and assisting with the smooth and
diligent operation of the Cardiac Stress Clinic and its patient population.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system with the ability to
interpret 12-lead electrocardiograms, recognize cardiac arrythmias, and respond accordingly.
- Follows established provider protocols and clinical guidelines / orders for cardiac testing and all
aspects of consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care of the patient.
- Supervises and educates the Cardiology Testing team to ensure accuracy of testing and quality
care of the patient.
- Effectively communicates with providers to ensure clinical best practice and patient safety.
- Documents comprehensive patient assessments and education related to procedures/follow- up
care.
- Prepare and monitor daily schedule adjusting as necessary to maintain efficiency in operations.
- Administer medication in accordance with established policies and procedures and conduct med
reconciliation, assess patient compliance, and provide medication education as needed.
- Provide patient health counseling and instruction.
- Assist provider with order entry ensuring standard documentation and coding.
- Evaluate/triage patient status and advise patients on clinical interventions as appropriate.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.
- Work Experience: None
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida.
- Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.

o Ability to function independently and efficiently in a clinic environment and meet
defined goals
o Demonstrate computer application skills using tools such as EMR, MS Excel,
Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the Teams virtual meeting platform.
o Must have the ability to maintain confidential organizational knowledge.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Licensure: Professional nursing certification(s)
- Work Experience in Related Field: 5 years of acute care experience with cardiac
telemetry
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Prior experience with stress testing, Enhanced external
counterpulsation (EECP),
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
- May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.
- May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise.
- May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
