As our Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) modeler, you'll be joining our growing civil engineering team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team to develop a diverse range of renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, HV, Wind).
Job Responsibilities:- The role requires strong technical skills in event-based hydrologic analysis and floodplain management.
- The focus of the role will be utilizing US Army Corps of Engineering software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS) to model flood depth and scour depth in solar photovoltaic (PV) system layouts.
- Use QGIS to map publicly available data on the HUC watershed delineations, Land Use Land Cover, SSURGO soil maps, and National Water Information Systems.
- Incorporate site-specific LiDAR topography, existing hydraulic structures, and geotechnical investigations into the model.
- Develop automated processes for extracting and analyzing hydraulic results.
- Use QGIS to produce flood risk maps and exhibits.
- Coordinate with the civil and structural engineering teams to analyze the hydraulic performance of multiple design scenarios for value engineering.
- Perform analysis to demonstrate compliance with FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and local regulations: No-Rise Analysis, Compensatory Storage calculations, and Letter of Map Revision.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- Certified Floodplain Manager is a plus.
- Ability to create model workflows with RAS-Commander.
- Data science skills.

- 4-8 years of experience.
