Job Summary

Galena is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist in implementing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective rehabilitation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including trigger point therapy, physiotherapy techniques, and exercises tailored to patient needs.
  • Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately using medical terminology.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Engage with patients across various demographics including geriatrics, pediatrics, and orthopedic cases.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or related field from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practices.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with outpatient clinic operations and home health services.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles and ability to implement care plans effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
