Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) specializing in Pediatrics In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the lives of children through therapeutic interventions. You will work closely with occupational therapists to implement treatment plans that promote independence and improve the quality of life for our young patients. Your expertise in pediatric care will be instrumental in guiding children through their developmental milestones while ensuring a supportive and engaging environment.

What you'll do

  • Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to foster independence and confidence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
  • Provide therapy in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Utilize your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess patient progress and adapt treatment strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct medical imaging procedures as needed to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Engage with families to educate them on therapeutic techniques and strategies for continued support at home.
  • Document patient progress meticulously, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and best practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and outcomes.

Basic qualifications

  • Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric physiology and development.
  • Ability to work as a team and schedule effectively

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in pediatric occupational therapy or related fields such as geriatrics or acute care.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to pediatric assessments.
  • Background in outpatient clinic settings or skilled nursing facilities is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to pediatric care.
