About the Role

We are seeking a skilled *Industrial Automation Technical Support Agent* to join our growing team in The Woodlands, Texas. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience supporting automation systems who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working closely with customers in demanding industrial environments.

You will serve as a key technical resource for customers requiring assistance with automation software, control systems, industrial networks, and supporting computer hardware. This position is office-based and includes participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical support for industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, control software, and networked equipment

* Diagnose and troubleshoot automation, networking, and system-level issues via phone, remote access, and support tools

* Support customers with system configuration, software updates, communications issues, and operational questions

* Troubleshoot basic IT and computer hardware issues related to industrial control systems (industrial PCs, laptops, networking hardware, peripherals)

* Document support cases, resolutions, and system configurations accurately

* Collaborate with engineering and field service teams to resolve escalated issues

* Maintain and contribute to internal knowledge bases and troubleshooting documentation

* Participate in an *after-hours on-call rotation* to support customers operating in mission-critical environments


Required Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience supporting industrial automation or control systems

* Working knowledge of PLC-based systems and industrial control environments

* Familiarity with automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Codesys, or similar

* Understanding of *industrial networking concepts and communication protocols, including **Ethernet/IP, Modbus (TCP/RTU), Profinet, and CANbus*

* *Basic IT and computer hardware knowledge*, including Windows-based systems, industrial PCs, networking equipment, and remote access tools

* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

* Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, support-driven environment


Preferred Qualifications

* Experience supporting oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or heavy industrial equipment

* Exposure to SCADA systems, data acquisition, or remote monitoring platforms

* Familiarity with CAN-based protocols such as J1939 or CANopen

* Ability to read basic electrical schematics and control panel layouts

* Prior experience supporting 24/7 operations or participating in on-call rotations


After-Hours Support

This role includes participation in a *rotational after-hours on-call schedule* to support critical customer operations. On-call expectations and compensation will be clearly defined.
