Public Health Field Service Representative 1 or Public Health Field Services Representative Trainee

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Public Health Field Service Representative 1 (PHFSR1) will conduct Tuberculosis (TB) Program activities in the MARO Region. The incumbent will, assist in providing on-site technical advice and direction to local health departments for all TB related outbreaks/events within the region; assist with new contact investigations across multiple jurisdictions; participate with other regional staff on expanded contact investigations in congregate settings, such as homless shelters, schools, workplaces, prisons/jails, etc.; collect, record and monitor TB case/suspect data using DOH data systems to ensure accurate/timely case follow-up and completion of NYSDOH and CDC reports; assist in facilitating the continuity of care and management of inmates with active/suspect TB as they are transferred within NYSDOCCS facilities and as the re-enter the general population; assist in the development/presentation of in-service education and training within the region; and other TB related activities within the catchment area.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently. Experience using NYSDOH data systems, such as the Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS) and the Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS).
