The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description This position will oversee the Registration Unit of the Official Prescription Program within the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) located in Riverview Center, Albany NY. Duties include: Supervise unit staff and troubleshoot system issues with IT staff. Work with forge proof precription vendor to ensure practitioners are receiving secure Official NYS prescriptions free of charge in a timely manner. Run weekly and/or monthly BNE reports for management. Process vendor and temp agency invoices in the SFS system and track payments/purchase orders. Additional duties include the preparation of written material in the form of internal and external reports, correspondence (emails), and other documents related to program functions and regulations on Controlled Substances. Assist with administrative tasks, operational activities, and other Bureau tasks as needed.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service as a Health Program Administrator, SG18, OR a current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the NYS Civil Service Law to Health Program Administrator, SG18, Health Program Administrator Trainee 1, NS, or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2, NS.Non-Competitive Candidates via HELPS Program: Health Program Administrator: A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the administration, supervision and oversight of programs including the design, implementation, administration, management, operation, and assessment of program effectiveness.Health Program Administrator Trainee 2: A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the administration, supervision and oversight of programs including the design, implementation, administration, management, operation, and assessment of program effectiveness.Health Program Administrator Trainee 1: A bachelor's or higher degree.Substitution: a Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.Preferred Qualifications: A broad range of administrative skills and experience. Ability to work independently; have excellent writing and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Experience with the Statewide Financial System. Supervisory experience.
