Lead Printing Press Operator

We are hiring experienced Lead Press Operators who wants to advance their careers on our 1st shift, Monday thru Friday. As a working Lead, the successful candidate will lead a crew responsible for making ready, running, washing up and preventative maintenance. The individual should have experience operating multiple color offset presses. We are seeking candidates that are self-confident, have a positive attitude and possess good communication skills. Candidate should be able to read and follow work instructions/SOPs. They must be detail-oriented while being quality and safety focused.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist in managing, supervising, running and/or assigning of work/duties to other operators.
• Sets up, adjusts, maintains and operates an offset press (perfector knowledgeable)
• Assist other crews on approvals as needed.
• Check on supplies and communicate replenishment needs.
• Works under minimum supervision.
• Monitor and maintain quality and/or order quantity while helping to reduce manufacturing costs.
• Locates and corrects minor machine malfunctions.
• Perform and help oversee preventative maintenance through cleaning, lubricating, and make minor adjustments to maintain quality of production off the equipment.
• Notifies maintenance and/or senior managers on needs and/or repairs so replacement parts or service call can be placed.
• Delivers finished material to proper manufacturing areas as required.
• Ensure that all equipment is being properly maintained in safe operating condition.
• Assists in training off all pressroom personnel.
• Understands all documents pertaining to the printing process and adheres to specification requirements.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
• Complies with established safety procedures and policies with the intent of maintaining a safe working environment.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in all areas.
• Focuses on continuous improvement, quality, improved cycle times, safety, cost reductions, and customer satisfaction.
• Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
• Must be able to operate various makes of printing presses.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Folding Carton experience preferred
• Familiar with G 7 Process
• Ability to read and understand job instructions
• Basic computer skills
• Willing/Flexible to work overtime as needed.
• Excellent color perception.
• Follow safety rules and policies as directed.
• Assist with press maintenance activities.
• Ability to bend, kneel and lift-up to 75 pounds.
• Fully capable of performing basic duties on the press.
• Perform necessary machine adjustments for proper quality and efficient production output.
• Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D

Experience:

• Min. 3 years of offset experience. Komori Press experience preferred.
• Offset printing: 1 year min. as a lead operator (Required)
• 1 yr + as a working lead
