Remote Accounting Clerk

About the Role
As an
Accounting Clerk
at
Henry Ford
, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in our accounting processes, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. You'll collaborate closely with other team members to process invoices, reconcile accounts, and maintain complete financial records.
This is a
fully remote
position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting tasks such as recording financial transactions, posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to ledgers and accounting systems.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings, including supporting documentation and reports.
- Support internal audits and respond to inquiries from management or external auditors.
- Maintain organized digital files and ensure data integrity within accounting software.
- Collaborate with the finance team to identify process improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the accounting department as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in a remote setting.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge is a plus).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team environment.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
