Media Monitoring & Outreach

  • Track news coverage and compile daily media clips relevant to the Center's work.
  • Maintain and update press lists and media contact databases.
  • Respond to media inquiries and coordinate timely follow-ups.

Content & Messaging

  • Draft press releases, media advisories, and talking points.
  • Support digital content and social media efforts to amplify messaging.
  • Ensure message consistency across teams and platforms.

Event & Interview Coordination

  • Organize logistics for press events, interviews, and media briefings.
  • Assist external PR firm with scheduling interviews and managing spokesperson availability.

Project Communication

  • Share updates on current initiatives and news hooks with the PR team to support outreach.
  • Facilitate quick turnarounds and consistent execution in collaboration with external partners.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Provide general support to the communications and management team.
  • Operate with a campaign-style mindset—fast-paced, mission-driven, and responsive to shifting priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, political science, or related field.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • .Familiarity with media landscape and press tools (e.g., Meltwater).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Prior experience in a communications or media role preferred.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to keep pace with media cycles.
