Position Overview:
The Family Law Associate Attorney will be responsible for independently managing a diverse caseload with the support of an experienced legal team. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop or expand their practice in the areas of family law, domestic relations, and related civil litigation. This role involves direct client contact, courtroom appearances, negotiation, and collaboration with paralegals and support staff.
This position reports directly to the Sr. Family Law Attorney / Managing Partner.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Family Law Attorney / Managing Partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage an active caseload in areas including divorce, custody, paternity, child support enforcement, guardianship/adoption, and related civil matters.
- Conduct client interviews, strategy meetings, mediation sessions, and settlement conferences.
- Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
- Attend court hearings, trials, and status conferences.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and management to ensure efficient case handling.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and uphold the firm's standards of professionalism and client service.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and case reviews as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the New Mexico State Bar (Required).
- Minimum 2 years of legal experience (family law experience preferred but not required).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual a plus, not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.

Experience:
- Minimum 2-5 years of legal experience. Compensation, based on level of experience
- Litigation experience, motion practice, or courtroom exposure strongly preferred.
License:
- Active member of the New Mexico State Bar (Required).
