Background Investigations Adjudicator

POSITION SUMMARY
ANASEC, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional to work as a Background Investigations Adjudicator in support of a U.S. Government Law Enforcement Agency in Washington, DC as part of the agency's Background Investigations team. The selected individual will assess the employment suitability of applicants based on the agency's Suitability Standards. SALARY: $77, 000 to $80, 000 Based on Experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· The selected individual will initiate criminal, credit, and vehicle records checks and adjudicate results for the purposes of employment suitability based upon the agency's Employment Suitability Standards.
· The selected individual will also conduct interviews, reconcile information, review polygraph and psychological/medical reports to identify discrepancies in the candidate's background.
· Upon completion of records checks, interviews, and review of records gathered, the selected individual will upload all required documents to the agency's case management system.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
· A High School Diploma or GED.
· At least two (2) years of specialized experience working with a federal agency, police department, recognized private contractor or military agency specializing in pre-employment screening and adjudications.
· At least five (5) years of general experience in adjudicative and investigative support and in-depth knowledge of investigative requirements for the performance and adjudication of BIs, experience in reviewing and evaluating Reports of Investigations in applicants, contractors, and employees, making security and suitability determinations based on agency guidelines.
· Knowledgeable about all applicable, local, state, and federal fraud statutes.
· Proficiency and Experience working with automated technology such as eSOPH, POBITS, LinX, WALES, NCIC, Equifax, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Internet, and email.
· Successful completion of an approved Basic and Advanced Suitability Adjudications Trainings Course.
· Must possess excellent writing skills and provide a writing sample for review.
· Must pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check.
· Full-Time on site in Washington, DC, Monday through Friday.
