The Hurlbut Nursing Home, a 160-bed skilled nursing facility located in Henrietta, NY is looking for an RN Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team.

Full Time, Primarily Monday - Friday with rotational On - call responsibilities.

Job Duties:

The RN Assistant Director of Nursing assists in directing the activities of licensed and non- licensed personnel who provide health care and nursing services to residents of The Hurlbut on a 24-hour, 7 day per week basis.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

A. The Clinical Care Coordinator reports to the Director of Nursing. Reporting to this position are Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Assistants, Unit Secretaries.

B. The Clinical Care Coordinator compliments the Director of Nursing in planning, developing and supervising the activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel who provide health care and nursing services to the residents. This position assists with the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures in accordance with Federal and State regulations.

C. The incumbent shares, with the Director of Nursing, the responsibility for selecting Nursing Department staff, completing employee appraisals and resolving problems involving employee disciplinary action.

D. The Clinical Care Coordinator shares responsibility in on call duties within the scope of practice.

E. The Clinical Care Coordinator may confer with residents' physicians on an occasional basis to clarify medical orders and direct care.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

A. Oversees the clinical operations (i.e. monitoring resident conditions, psychopharmacological drugs, restraint use, foley catheters, pressure ulcers, etc.) of the Nursing Department.

B. Assists the Director of Nursing in the design, implementation and evaluation of nursing systems that ensure consistent delivery of care and maintains and promotes resident rights.

C. Conducts nursing rounds on all units several times a day, including the beginning and end of shift.

D. Provides reports/recommendations as needed/required for the Director of Nursing concerning the operations of Nursing.

E. Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring that residents are free from abuse, mistreatment and neglect.

F. Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring nursing staff awareness and compliance with Federal and State regulations relative to resident rights issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a Registered Professional Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the State of New York.
  • Must show ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
  • Must speak and understand English
  • Previous managerial experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other health care related facility.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and management skills.
  • Respect for principles of resident rights.
  • Confidentiality, EEO and ADA.
